C-47 shot down during the invasion of Holland

Many Troop Carrier aircraft were hit by German fire during the invasion of Holland as poor communications led C-47 serials to make their drops to positions that had been already overrun by enemy troops. In the foreground, a Waco glider has been unloaded through its hinged nose.
